Medical Assisting Education Review Board

The Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB) is seeking an Accreditation Case Manager.  The MAERB is a Committee on Accreditation under the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), and it conducts all the processes associated with CAAHEP accreditation for approximately 500 medical assisting programs nationally. 

This position is a customer service position in a conveniently located office in downtown Chicago.  The Accreditation Case Manager provides information and support to existing and newly developing medical assisting education programs. In addition, the Accreditation Case Manager provides administrative support for the Medical Assisting Education Review Board (MAERB). Case Managers interact with program personnel (program directors, deans, CEOs, faculty), board members, team members, students, the public and other office staff.  The MAERB office is a small, cohesive office that strives for consistency, works collaboratively, and serves the educational programs and the board members. 

The anticipated start for this position is January 8, 2018. 

Required

 

  • Baccalaureate Degree
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Excellent oral and written communication practices
  • Vigilant attention to details
  • Customer service skills

Preferred:

  • Knowledge about accreditation
  • Experience updating a database
  • General knowledge of health care (education and/or experience)
  • Knowledge of educational organizations and processes

Responsibilities:

  •  Serve as the central customer service contact for the education programs, responding to questions and requests from the instructional staff of medical assisting programs over the phone and by email
  • Review and verify proper completion of accreditation materials submitted by assigned programs
  • Serve as contact point between programs and MAERB Board Members and peer reviewers throughout the comprehensive review process
  • Assist program personnel in completing required documentation/forms/letters, depending upon the type of accreditation process
  • Maintain the accreditation database
  • Participate in department meetings to improve efficiency for processing accreditation actions and providing high quality customer service
  • Conduct mass mailings to assigned program directors, deans, and others, as requested
  • Assist with workshops and program training, as requested
  • Conduct special projects, as assigned
